An story of success using EBI & Ultimate Software
When Sarita Shepard joined American Software’s human resources team about two years ago, the company was growing. Things were incredibly busy.
“Basically when I came on board. It was a little bit. I don’t want to say it was like drinking out of a fire hose, but it was something similar to that, where it was just a lot of open positions. There was a lot of moving parts happening in recruiting and I had to take a step back and figure out, OK, how are we going to streamline our processes and make this more efficient,” Sarita said.
“I had a chance to go to the Ultimate Software conference and met EBI there and had a great conversation with them. I had a chance to meet with Chad Birmingham and he was awesome. I love Chad. He’s been a great partner in all of this. And once Chad explained to me EBI, and what they had to offer, I was really intrigued. Long story short, I made the decision to switch over,” Sarita said.
“Previously they had really long, cumbersome reports. We’re talking 20 plus pages to read through. That takes a long time. Recruiters want to be able to quickly look at a report, see that they’re good to go ahead, and move on to the next thing. So with our reports they’re a lot easier to read. They’re quick, they’re plain, and they’re straightforward. So we were able to check that box off for her,” Chad explained.
Shepard said she knew right away that she had made the right decision to switch to EBI.
“It was so easy to use the product. It integrated with Ultimate Software, which was just awesome. I mean, we’re talking about one click and the background check goes out to the candidate. And it just makes everything so easy. I don’t even have to go to EBI’s website. I can pull up the information through Ultimate Software. You go to the home page and there you can just see everything. I don’t have to click through a bunch of different items. I literally can just go to what I need to go to. The reporting is easy to pull up. Some of those type of things are big sellers for me,” Sarita said.
As with any new partnership there were times things needed to be adjusted.
“We do a lot of international hiring with American Software. So I reached out to Chad and he was like, ‘Absolutely let me know what you need,’ and he put a package together. Literally a week-and-a-half later we were able to start sending our background checks to our international staff.”
While EBI’s quick turnaround times, accurate reports, and helpful team are all important, the real test is how candidates respond.
“I’ve gotten so much positive feedback from our new hires saying that this was the best onboarding experience they’ve ever had. I just had someone tell me that a week ago. I love that. I love that. That makes me feel really good. It makes me feel like I’m making the right decisions and doing the right things and EBI was a part of that,” Serita said.
“I’m glad that I can help them out. That’s what I get paid for. That’s my job. And I love coming to work every day,” Chad said.
