EBI Secures NAPBS Re-Accreditation

If you are looking for a little help with your background screening and you hit up the internet, you are going to get all kinds of results. You’ll find giant firms that span the globe all the way down to the fly-by-night, quickie online search services.

How is it possible to know which company is right for you?

The very first thing you should be looking for, regardless of how big or small your needs are, is NAPBS accreditation. This is kind of like the Good Housekeeping seal of approval… but it means so much more.

When a company seeks to get accredited by the National Association of Professional Background Screeners, they have to pass a rigorous, independent, on-site audit. They must prove they have strict policies and procedures in place to cover six critical areas: consumer protection, legal compliance, client education, product standards, service standards, and general business practices.

While there are more than 800 NAPBS member companies, only 74 of them have successfully completed the accreditation process. EBI has just completed its re-accreditation… something we need to do every five years.

“As a founding member of NAPBS, we love to see the way the organization has grown,” said EBI Chief Knowledge Officer Robert Capwell.  “We were the eighth company to gain accreditation when the program started, and we are now pleased to announce that we have finished our re-accreditation procedure. Being accredited by NAPBS is so important to EBI because it is a way to separate ourselves as a leader in the market and to show the community our commitment to information security, best practices, compliance and client education.”

But this effort really isn’t for us. It’s for you: our clients. Everything we do is to help protect your workplace and your employees. That could mean keeping bad apples out of your company or keeping your employees’ personal information secure. Every piece of the puzzle is thoroughly thought out and built with you in mind.
