When it comes to information security, the universally accepted best standard is the ISO 27001 Certification. As part of our commitment to Data Security, EBI was the first CRA to obtain this certification, which establishes requirements related to Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
The standard provides guidelines for creating, implementing, maintaining, and refining an ISMS that keeps information accessible to the right people while also preserving confidentiality and integrity. It also helps ensure legal compliance with requirements such as the Data Protection Act. The standard helps organizations with cyber security strategy, IT governance, and asset protection. The standard also helps clients respond to incidents, mitigate threats, reduce downtime and minimize loss. ISO 27001 certification aids entities in establishing a system to protect information from security threats such as cyber-crime, viral attack, vandalism, terrorism, misuse of information, theft and fire.
Privacy Shield Certified
For the EU-U.S. Framework and U.S.-Swiss Framework
Protecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is essential to what we do at EBI. For that reason, we participate in both the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework and the Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework. The goal of Privacy Shield is to provide companies on both sides of the Atlantic with a plan to comply with the strict EU data protection requirements for transferring personal data.
EBI has committed to the highest level of data security, thus chooses to participate in the Privacy Shield Program. Joining the Privacy Shield is voluntary. Once an eligible organization makes the public commitment to comply with the Framework's requirements, the commitment will become enforceable under U.S. law.
We're one of only a small percentage of background screening firms in the world to be accredited by the National Association of Professional Background Screeners. To become accredited, we passed a rigorous on-site audit of our policies, procedures, and best practices.
