On October 5, 2012, Team EBI stormed the Inner Harbor with over 1,400 other proud walkers for this year’s three mile trek to support the American Diabetes Association’s Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes in Baltimore, MD. This year marked the seventh year of Employment Background Investigation’s unwavering support of this event, which is held to raise awareness, promote healthy living, and raise money to fund educational outreach, advocacy efforts and critical research that will ultimately stop diabetes once and for all.
If you ask us why we do it, it’s our passion and drive to make a difference! “We are Stepping Out because we are proud to do our part to Stop Diabetes. We team up to change the future and make a positive impact in the lives of those who are affected by diabetes. We are committed to walk and raise money in this inspirational event not because 26 million people in the United States have diabetes, but because we personally know some of them, and we want to do something about it!”
This year represents another record breaking year for fundraising for the Step Out Walk since 2006. This year, Team EBI raised over $4,400 for the American Diabetes Association through the support of our staff, family and friends. At EBI, it truly warms our hearts to see people support our team and this worthy cause. We are still able to accept donations via our Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes Step Out Center, and we would like to thank everyone who has already generously donated to support our fundraising efforts.
Participation in the Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes is one of several ways that EBI focuses on giving back to the community. Through EBI's Just One World philanthropic initiatives, we also raise money throughout the year for numerous other charitable causes that are close to our heart. The American Diabetes Association is a client of EBI’s and through our Just One World initiative we are able to find ways to support causes important to our clients, employees, and business partners so we can give back to the community and the world.
