What's hidden in a credit report?

While an employment credit report is a valuable background screening tool for all job applicants, it is particularly critical to obtain on individuals applying for financial positions and those responsible for inventory control.

EBI provides employment credit reports from the major credit bureaus.


Informational Content:

  • Public records include the number of public records on the report (bankruptcies, tax liens, civil judgments)
  • Collections include the number of accounts that have not been paid and are in collection
  • Trade Accounts include the number of open accounts the individual has in place (loans, credit cards, etc.)
  • Negative Accounts include the number of accounts that are paid late or have been charged off
  • Satisfactory Accounts include the number of trade accounts that are paid according to agreed-upon terms
  • Inquiries indicate the number of times creditors have run credit checks on the individual
  • Total counts for each category are displayed and the details of each individual account follow in the body of the report
