What does this service provide?  

Driver’s license verifications should be conducted on employees driving on behalf of an employer.  Employees and volunteers driving on behalf of an organization can pose a very high risk to employers.  A driver’s history can also provide insight into an individual’s due care and legal responsibility.  EBI’s Motor Vehicle Records Search (MVRs) provides the following details as reported by the applicable state’s Department of Motor Vehicles:

• License validity
• License type (including special license verifications)
• Vehicle violations
• License restrictions
• Suspensions and revocations
• Accidents and convictions (convictions may also appear on criminal reports in addition to, or instead of, MVR reports)
• Serious infractions, such as DUI, driving while suspended, reckless driving, open container, and no driver’s license are delivered in the MVR (this data may also appear in criminal felony and misdemeanor verifications, provided that the specific incident(s) occurred in counties returned by the SSN trace)
