Federal Criminal Records

Criminal cases brought by the federal government, such as bank robbery, counterfeiting and kidnapping as well as offenses that occur on federal property, are searched via the applicable federal court district.

 

What does this service provide?  

A federal criminal records search provides criminal filings in any of the nation's 300 plus Federal District Courts.  As federal crimes do not appear in state or county court record searches, federal records are searched via the applicable federal district.  Information provided will include case number, charge, date of filing as well as the current status or disposition of the case.  EBI offers a single federal district search or a comprehensive statewide federal search which will search all federal districts found in the applicable state.

  Federal searches are conducted by districts and in conjunction with the county of residence.  A federal crime may include offenses such as embezzlement, kidnapping and offenses against the United States as well as offenses that occur on federal property .  A federal search is not a search of the entire country, only a federal district within a particular state.
