An EBI Employment Verifications Specialist performs in-depth, detailed and confidential verification of employment your candidate's employment. Standard Employment Verification, Extended Employment Verification (w/Supervisor References), DOT, other regulatory and customized questions are available.
What does this service provide? Employment verifications should be conducted on all new hires. A candidate’s qualifications, experience and job history can be provided by past employers. This service also provides additional verification of a candidate’s true identity. EBI provides four types of education verifications to choose from: |

Approximately 32% of all job applicants lie about their previous or current employment. Falsification includes position held, dates of employment and salary earned. “Date stretching” is one of the most commonly used practices to close the gaps of past employment so as not to disclose undesirable or unverifiable past employment. |

Extended Employment Verifications
In addition to the standard verification questions, our specialists contact the applicant's prior supervisors and colleagues to uncover information pertinent to applicants’ work performance, punctuality, how they interacted with others, disciplinary actions taken against them and any incidents of theft or sexual harassment. Extended Verifications are in-depth character references.
DOT - Regulated Employment Verifications
Under Federal and/or State Law, certain positions in selected industries are regulated and carry unique employment verification requirements. EBI Specialists complete verifications based off of required specifications. For example: EBI conducts DOT employment verifications in accordance with the federal Department of Transportation Guidelines, 49 c.f.r. Section 40 and Parts 391.23 (g) (1).
