EBI ensures complete compliance to all drug and alcohol testing guidelines governing the Drug Testing and Occupational Healthcare arena, including the Department of Transportation (DOT), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the state regulations that govern Non-DOT regulated industries.
EBI strictly adheres to the regulations outlined within Code 49, Part 40 of the Federal Code of Regulations confirming that all of our programs are on par with all U.S. Office of Drug & Alcohol Policy & Compliance’s (ODAPC) relevant laws and regulations. In conjunction with OSHA standards, EBI also follows HIPAA guidelines to ensure security and privacy of health data.
Through our memberships in of the Substance Abuse Program Administrators Association (SAPAA) and the Drug & Alcohol Testing Industry Association (DATIA), EBI assists in establishing, promoting and communicating workplace substance abuse prevention programs through education, training and the exchanging of ideas among the industry’s leading professionals, trade groups and government officials.
Our partners – Quest Diagnostics, Inc., Laboratory Corporation of America (LabCorp) and Clinical Reference Laboratory (CRL) stay abreast of all current and pending legislation regarding drug testing, including HIPAA and CLIA. They regularly consult with our firm to ensure full compliance. We require our laboratory partners to adhere to strict guidelines provided by the HHS/SAMHSA laboratories' Quality Control and Proficiency Testing procedures. Our laboratory partners also meet or exceed the certification and compliance regulations established by HHS/SAMHSA, the Department of Transportation, College of American Pathologists and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
