President Orders Contractors To Check Legal Status Of Employees
President Bush has amended Executive Order 12989 in order to direct all federal departments and agencies to require contractors to agree to use an electronic employment eligibility verification system. This system, designated by the Secretary of Homeland Security, will be used to verify employment eligibility of all persons hired during their contract term.
